I remember a conversation I had with a state legislator from Tacoma not too long ago. “King County voters just love taxes,” he said. “They won’t even care what the tax is for, they’ll OK it and ask for another!” He was joking of course, but we both thought there was some credence to his quip at the time. Now that King County voters have rejected Proposition 1, I’m not sure if his joke is more hilarious or just sad in retrospect.
